after getting some feed back in class the logos have developed into these
mmn top one looks like the power sign
2nd one looks like someone smokin

These logos have a much better look since you took the other wording off of it. The bottom logo reads better as it is a Q for Quit than the top logo does. The top looks more like an O to me.
Simple is good!
I like the top one since to me it reads like the stop sign (power off) as an indirect message to quit (stop smoking). Maybe I'm reading too much into it!
I like the second one as well, Q is getting stronger then, and almost working more like icon.
I think it works best as a suggestion when is between the q and the power sign. It may also work as a sign somewhere without the other logo text on the packaging which you made ...
I think it is a strong message and is intriguing. Well done!
